One of the benefits of living in an apartment is that you live in proximity to bunches of people. Out of all of them, some are bound to be both hot and single. It’s your job to meet them. Here are the 10 best ways to do that:

1. Party hardy. One of the best ways to meet your neighbors is to throw a party. Of course, you need to invite more neighbors than just the hot one. Otherwise, you might be embarrassed to find he’s the only one that shows. On the other hand, there’s always the chance that none of the hotties will show and you’ll be stuck spending the evening with non-hotties.
2. Go to the pool. If your apartment complex has a pool, hang out there. Hot people need to tan, right? So they’re likely to do it at the pool, unless you live in Florida. Make sure to put on plenty of sunblock, as you may need to wait a while. Peak tanning times are weekend afternoons, of course, but if your hot neighbor works retail like you do you’ll have to catch her during the week.
3. Work it. The fitness center at your complex is another great way to meet people. Hot people work out to stay in shape. You can really play up the gym, too, by asking for pointers on how to operate the elliptical machine or bitching about how the treadmills behave erratically.
4. Find common interests. Starting a sci-fi book club in your apartment complex probably isn’t going to bring in the hotties. However, starting a friendly tennis league might.
5. Go to events. Maybe it’s a billiards league, or just an open house. Attend your apartment complex’s events to meet hotties.
6. Use the building layout to your advantage. Most apartment buildings have a door that residents come in and out of. If you’re lucky, the mailboxes are there, too. Hang out at the mailbox. If you need to, bring some old mail with you so it looks like you just checked yours.
7. Ride the elevators. Spending half a day going up and down the elevator is not only fun, it’s a great way to meet hotties.
8. Get a dog. If the hot neighbor you’d like to get to know has a dog, get one yourself. Better yet, find a friend who has a dog and ask to dog-sit. That gives you an in without the long-term commitment of raising an animal.
9. Dude. Just talk to her. Walk up to that hot neighbor and say “hi.” From there, just do what happens naturally.
